Claire Snyder (she/her)

Claire Snyder grew up in the Sacramento area where her passion for social justice and civic engagement took root. In high school, she led her school’s service-learning club and served as a youth board member for a local service-learning organization’s experiences that sparked her commitment to creating change.

Nearly nine years ago, Claire moved to San Diego to pursue a degree in sociology at San Diego State University. While at SDSU, she began her organizing journey as a student organizer with Planned Parenthood advocating for reproductive justice, comprehensive sexual health education and medicated abortion access on campus.

Currently, Claire serves as the Director of Programming and Internal Development at Youth Will where she co-leads the organization to amplify youth voices, build youth power and advocate for equitable policies that address systemic inequities. Previously, she worked directly with youth navigating the juvenile justice and foster care systems as well as those experiencing homelessness.

In addition to her work at Youth Will, Claire is a member of the Asian Solidarity Collective where she is part of the Freedom & Justice Committee to support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. Her advocacy is grounded in a steadfast commitment to building a strong inclusive community where everyone can share their voices and contribute to the journey toward collective liberation.
