Rebecca (Becca) Smith (she/her)

Becca is a government affairs and public policy professional who has dedicated her career to serving the communities in San Diego. She previously worked as a Senior Policy Advisor for County of San Diego Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer where she focused on issues such as the Tijuana River pollution crisis, environmental justice, sustainability, childcare, and reproductive rights. Becca recently transitioned into a new role as a CAO Group Analyst for the Public Safety Group at the County of San Diego. She hopes to drive meaningful change in the region focusing on reducing recidivism and ensuring comprehensive care for incarcerated individuals, as well as fostering greater transparency between the community and our local public safety agencies.


Becca was born and raised in Tacoma Washington and comes from a pro-union, working-class family. She was the first person in her immediate family to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. In 2021, She earned her Master of City Planning degree from San Diego State University.
