Xochi, a San Diego native, earned her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from UC Berkeley, perceiving life as an ongoing ethnographic journey with a keen eye for observation. Her enduring commitment to social justice and human rights has profoundly influenced both her career and personal life.


Dedicating herself to fostering accessibility, encompassing physical and economic dimensions, Xochi serves as a housing navigator at Alpha Project in the Permanent Supportive Housing program. In this role, she connects individuals who formerly experienced homelessness to substance abuse recovery, mental health services, and various resources, utilizing a harm reduction approach.


Xochi's diverse experiences include conducting User Experience Research during her internship at the U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid. In this role, she concentrated on enhancing website accessibility for FAFSA users. Furthermore, a little over a year ago, Xochi devoted her time to volunteering in the coastal rural community of Zipolite in Oaxaca, Mexico, actively supporting and collaborating with individuals who experience disabilities to navigate towards a more independent  self-sufficient lifestyle.


In her leisure, Xochi channels her passion into art creation, spanning film photography, illustration, painting, and stained glass, all centered around social justice themes. This multifaceted approach reflects her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact, both professionally and creatively.
