Eadie DeMarcus (they/she)

Government Relations Analyst

Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego


Eadie DeMarcus grew up in El Cajon in East County, San Diego and is currently a Government Relations Analyst at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Their role is to provide research, analysis, communication, and event planning necessary to establish and maintain connections with nonprofit, state, local, and federal stakeholders. Prior to their current role, Eadie earned a Master’s of Public Policy at UC Irvine. Her experience as Vice President of External Affairs for graduate student government provided experience in leading a research team, coordinating travel for advocacy, setting up meetings with members of Congress and local politicians, and qualitative analysis. 


Eadie also served in AmeriCorps at an equity-focused education nonprofit based in Watts, Los Angeles after earning a Bachelor’s in History from UC San Diego. While studying at UC San Diego, they also participated in Hope Scholars. This program was their first experience in advocacy, as they traveled to Sacramento to advocate on behalf of former foster youth. Eadie’s career mission is to support equitable and effective policy that improves quality of life for both people and the environment.
