Kathleen Dang (she/her) is a community builder, educator, and nonprofit operations professional, born and raised in San Diego. She is a Specialist for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program at the Foundation for California Community Colleges and a Production Manager for Heritage Series, LLC. She previously served as the AANHPI Community Representative in the Office of Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-51), Development & Engagement Director at Pacific Arts Movement, Supervisor at Copley Library - University of San Diego, APIDA Resource Center Coordinator at San Diego State University, and Education & Events Coordinator at San Diego Chinese Historical Museum. 


Kathleen is also involved with several cultural, educational, and philanthropic organizations that serve to engage the community in Asian and Asian American-focused topics, including the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association - San Diego, Convoy District Partnership, San Diego Chinese Women's Association, National Association of Asian American Professionals San Diego, Asian Pacific American Legacy, among many others. As an educator, she instructed thousands of people throughout San Diego County on AANHPI history, art, and culture, specifically focusing on Asian American history from the 19th and 20th centuries. 


She received her Bachelor’s in Archaeology with a minor in Art History & Criticism from UC San Diego. She received her Master’s in Education from National University, specializing in US Education in a Global Context. 


In her free time, you can find her playing at a dog park with her French Bulldog Trixie, giving a historical walking tour, or visiting the newest coffee shop in San Diego
